About Ground Effects Lighting

Ground Effects Lighting was designed and built from the ground up in early 2025, with our online store officially launching in late 2025. Based in Brisbane, Australia, we specialise in high-quality custom LED lighting for trucks, 4WDs, hot rods, trailers, caravans, buses, motorhomes and motorcycles.

Our goal is simple — to bring premium glass and plastic lighting products to the Australian and international market, backed by real-world testing, professional wiring solutions, and a one-stop-shop experience that makes custom lighting easy from start to finish.

All of our lighting components are sourced internationally from high-quality manufacturers, then paired with locally built wiring systems designed and assembled right here in Brisbane. Our glass products are carefully packaged in custom-designed gift boxes to ensure damage-free shipping, while our custom wiring harnesses are built in-house to deliver true plug-and-play reliability.

We don’t just sell lights — we stock everything you need to design, build and install a complete custom lighting system. From globes and watermelons to wiring, connectors, switches, brackets and hand tools, Ground Effects Lighting gives you everything required to go from concept to installation with confidence.

Built by a Truck Driver, for Truck Drivers

Ground Effects Lighting was created by an interstate truck driver with over 12 years of experience on the road. Throughout those years, customising trucks and creating one-of-a-kind lighting setups became a passion — from show-quality builds to everyday working rigs.

One of the biggest frustrations was always trying to source all the parts needed for a proper installation: globes, wiring, brackets, tools, and the know-how to make it all work together. That frustration is what led to the creation of Ground Effects Lighting — a true one-stop shop where everything you need is available in one place.

You can choose to build your own system using the same components we use in our harnesses, or take the convenient route and buy a pre-built plug-and-play setup. Either way, you’re using the exact same parts that we trust in our own vehicles.

Every product we sell has been tested in real trucks, in real conditions — vibration, heat, dust, rain and long-haul driving — over a 12-month period before being released. This testing allows us to confidently back our products with a strong warranty and provide real support if you ever need it.

Designed to Comply with Real-World Vehicle Regulations

Vehicle lighting laws vary between regions and countries, and it is the responsibility of buyers to ensure their vehicle complies with local regulations.

In most jurisdictions, white and amber lights are permitted to face forward, while red lights are only permitted to face rearward. For this reason, our white, amber and red products are specifically designed to meet industry standards for their intended direction of use.

For specialty lighting such as roof lights, underglow, mirror lights and cab lighting — where coloured lighting may not be legal on public roads — we have developed our Dual Revolution system. This allows white, amber or red to be used as the primary road-legal colour, while secondary show colours can be activated when off-road or at events, eliminating the need to change or disconnect lighting before or after a show.

All of our clearance lights, headlights and tail lights are designed to comply with ADR and DOT regulations for their intended applications.

Customer Protection & Business Insurance

Ground Effects Lighting is a fully insured Australian business. We carry business insurance that covers public liability, product liability and cyber security protection for customer data.

This means our customers are protected in the unlikely event of personal data compromise, or if one of our products were to cause damage or injury when used as intended. We take safety, privacy and product responsibility seriously — because we use these products ourselves and stand behind everything we sell.

We are an ABN-registered Australian business (ABN 98 493 547 921) and we ship Australia-wide and internationally.

We set our sights high. Our long-term goal is to open a walk-in showroom and workshop where customers can see, test and build lighting systems in person. For now, we’re starting strong with an online-only store, delivering the same quality, service and reliability you would expect from a physical location.
